PrePCR Laboratory
This lab supports the processing and analysis of DNA/RNA samples in a contamination-controlled environment, specifically designed for tasks preceding PCR amplification. It is used for handling samples that are susceptible to contamination from PCR products. Activities include reagent preparation, sample setup, and all pre-amplification steps to ensure the integrity of sensitive molecular workflows.
Possible applications in the prePCR lab include:
- DNA extraction from
Historic samples
Soil samples
Human samples
- RNA extraction from
Tissue samples
- Library preparation
For all steps until the first PCR
- qPCR/PCR preparation
Equipment available in the prePCR lab includes:
- HEPA Hood (Esco)
- Laboratory mill (Retsch)
- Mosquito (SPT Labtech)
- Plate reader (Tecan)
- Centrifuge (Eppendorf)
- Thermomixer (Eppendorf)
Special rules apply to the work processes in the prePCR lab. The
training is mandatory and the access to the prePCR lab will be decided on an individual basis for each project.
